This quilt was pieced by/for Niagara Heritage Quilters Guild for the Community Quilts Program. The pattern has a centered panel that gives the impression of applique. This Quilt was custom quilted using 80wt Decobob in the bobbin for the entire quilt. Decobob 80wt for all the center areas of the quilt and Glide 40 for the Feathering around the outer border.
This was my first time using the 80wt on the top and it was a bit tricky at first, as it kept popping out of the tension disks. I eventually solved it by wrapping the thread the opposite direction from normal around the disk. I am sure any official Handi Quilter rep would say this was bad. But it worked for me and the stitches formed fine. For the bobbin, I had to take a millimeter of thread off as it was floating in the case on me. But for my machine that is normal even when using Glide.
